We all know the famous screenwriter/director duos that are brothers. You’ve heard of the Coen Brothers. The Russo Brothers. The Duffer Brothers. The Safdie Brothers. Well now it’s time to get ready for the Gander Brothers.

Actually, neither of our last names are Gander. And, let’s face it, the aforementioned duos have way more funding than we do. Then again, money doesn’t always translate to quality. Did you see Season 5 of Stranger Things?

Although we’re not blood related, we’re just two lifelong friends entirely dedicated to the art of storytelling through cinema. We knew we were destined for film ever since we were 12 years old growing up in a town where literally nothing remotely entertaining happened. We spent our adolescence making short films with a camcorder, roaming the east Texas wilderness with BB guns, and standing in a driveway with our best friends either rapping, coming up with stories, or plotting the evening’s hijinks. We had to keep ourselves entertained. Our hometown didn’t even have an Olive Garden til we were 16!

Much like others in our generation, we were told “go to college, get a nice job, buy a house, and settle down”. Yeah, easy to say coming from the generation where houses were five grand AND came with a fridge. But, we got suckered into it anyway. Spoiler alert: those fancy diplomas? Those expensive pieces of paper? Yeah they didn’t find us a a single job worth having. Certainly not one that could support a family. So, one of us went back to school. No, not for another fancy piece of paper. But for legitimate education. To learn about film.

In our mid-20s, long after college and many years into the typical workforce of corporate America, we decided enough was enough. Bills have to get paid, sure. But at what cost? Happiness? No, that steep of a price tag quickly turns into a toe tag before you even know what’s hit you.

Established in 2026, Proper Gander Productions is a mindset and a movement. A quest for fulfillment. What started as but a wee notion in 2021 has led to this point.

One original comedy show, of which a full 2-season, 20 episode run has been born.

And we have no plans to slow down.
